Kumar Sangakkara is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the sport. He was born on October 27, 1977 in Matale, Sri Lanka and began his cricket career at a young age. Sangakkara is a left-handed batsman and wicketkeeper who played for the Sri Lankan national team from 2000 to 2015.
Throughout his career, Sangakkara scored over 28,000 runs in international cricket, including over 12,000 runs in Test cricket.
