SPORTS WORLD-LASITH MALINGA

Lasith Malinga is a professional cricketer who has represented Sri Lanka at the international level. He was born on August 28, 1983 in Galle, Sri Lanka and is a right-arm fast bowler known for his ability to swing the ball and take wickets.

Malinga made his debut for the Sri Lankan national team in 2004 and quickly established himself as one of the team's leading bowlers. He is known for his unique action and his ability to bowl accurate yorkers, which have made him a key player in the shorter formats of the game. Malinga has taken over 400 wickets in international cricket, including over 300 wickets in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

In addition to his success at the international level, Malinga has also played for a number of domestic teams in various T20 leagues around the world. He has been a key player for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has helped the team win four IPL titles.

Malinga retired from international cricket in 2019, but he continues to play in T20 leagues around the world. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of the game and is respected for his sportsmanship and leadership on and off the field.
