Tillakaratne Mudiyanselage Dilshan, commonly known as T.M. Dilshan, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the sport. He was born on October 14, 1976 in Kalutara, Sri Lanka and made his debut for the Sri Lankan national team in 1999. Dilshan played for Sri Lanka until 2016 and was known for his aggressive style of play and his ability to score runs all around the ground.
Throughout his career, Dilshan scored over 8,000 runs in international cricket, including over 5,000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket. He is one of only six players in history to score over 8,000 runs in ODIs and is considered one of the most successful batsmen in the history of the game. In addition to his success as a batsman, Dilshan was also known for his fielding ability and his off-spin bowling.
